We’re beyond flattered to be recognized with a 2021 Best Places to Work Award from LA Business Journal. We love our hometown community, and are proud to be born and built in Los Angeles. For that reason, this award feels a little extra special for us at Outer.
Los Angeles Business Journal’s survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Los Angeles, benefiting the county’s economy, workforce and businesses.
Fresh off the excitement of our Inc. Best Workplaces Award, we’re deeply grateful that, with our team and partners, we’ve been able to establish a work environment that embodies the inclusivity and innovation that inspired Outer’s founding mission.
At Outer, we believe in the power of community. It shows in our products, our Neighborhood Showroom retail model, and the way we operate as a business. Founded by two people of color, Outer has made a commitment from day one to prioritize diversity and inclusion-- and create an environment where outside-the-box ideas are heard and valued. More than half of the Outer team identify as female, and over 35% identify as non-white.
We have an “ant culture,” where the strengths of our diverse perspectives and unique talents come together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Just as ants can take down the colossal coconut crab by working together, our teams are encouraged to collaborate cross-functionally, share ideas early and often, and call on each other to allow for equal share of voice in all discussions and brainstorms.
It’s been a tough year for all businesses, but we’ve realized how important getting outside is, and we’re honored to help people find sanctuary and respite in their outdoor spaces as we navigate the uncertainty of the pandemic.
Intrigued? We are hiring! If you have a passion for outdoor living, sustainability, and bold new ideas, we would love to connect. You can browse our current opening on our careers page.
