This past week marked the opening of our first Neighborhood Showrooms in Atlanta, GA. To celebrate our arrival, two of our new Showroom Hosts threw launch parties, in Chattahoochee Hills and Marietta. Here are some of the weekend highlights.
Saturday: Serenbe in Chattahoochee Hills
Our first launch party took place at the inspiring Serenbe community, located on the southwestern edge of Atlanta. Built under the principles of "New Urbanism," Serenbe is designed to encourage nature-filled living and biophilia—a notion that suggests humans have an innate desire to connect with nature and other forms of life. Needless to say, we felt aligned.
The sprawling grounds are jaw-droppingly beautiful; in Serenbe, the residences and shops are built within close proximity to one another, in order to preserve 80% of the natural landscape. There are several farms, communal outdoor spaces, and “hamlets,” which include conveniently located farm-to-table restaurants and shops.
We couldn’t have asked for a better space to inaugurate Outer Neighborhood Showrooms in Atlanta. Our Host, Tom Reed, also happens to be the mayor of Chattahoochee Hills, the city were Serenbe is located. It felt like all of Serenbe showed up to our launch party at Tom’s new townhouse in Mado (Serenbe’s newest development). Once inside, guests walked through the story of Outer and made their way up to Tom’s upper-level terrace.
Guests dined on a gourmet, Southern-inspired spread from Figs and Honey. (The bacon-wrapped dates and beef and mushroom skewers were a sensation.) Musician Scott Streible provided folk rock tunes while everyone tested out the OuterShell.
Thank you Serenbe for the warmest of welcomes!
Sunday: The Porche Place in Marietta
The party didn’t end there. The next night we headed north to Marietta, where our Host, Emily Porche of @theporcheplace, put together a true Southern backyard party, complete with food trucks, corn hole, live music, and, of course, the Saints v Seahawks game. Plus, Emily has a home and lifestyle blog, which attracted some out-of-town tastemakers to our shindig; some came from as far as Birmingham, AL.
Of course, we were all about the outdoor space, which sat adjacent to a golf course. From the big front porch to the swimming pool in the backyard, there are endless places to unwind outside.
This Neighborhood Showroom is on a covered patio. The Outer sofa fits seamlessly into their clean, modern farmhouse design aesthetics—and gives the Porche family one more place for outdoor family time.
As for the party, Sweet Auburn BBQ's food truck served up delicious smoked meats and tasty sides, including brisket, pulled pork, mac and cheese, and pear slaw. Singer-songwriter Andy Durham serenaded the crowd.
