The configurator lets you build across Outer’s core sofa materials, including wicker, aluminum, and teak. Wicker offers a handcrafted look built over hand-welded aluminum frames, aluminum provides a lightweight and low-maintenance option with long-term weather resistance, and teak brings natural warmth with FSC®-certified wood that develops a graceful silver-gray patina over time. Each material gives the same modular system a different point of view, so the right choice comes down to the look, feel, and maintenance level you want outdoors.
Configurations Designed to Change With You
Outer’s seating is modular by design, so you can arrange and rearrange it over time as your space or needs change. The configurator includes popular layouts across 3–4 seat, 5–6 seat, and 7+ seat groupings, while also giving customers the option to build a more custom arrangement with design support. To help hold specific layouts in place, Outer includes connector clips for wicker, teak, and aluminum seating.

Outer’s sofa configurator makes it easy to build a modular outdoor setup step by step. You can choose your frame material, select a fabric color, and start from a popular layout or create a configuration that fits your space. Free fabric swatches are also available if you want to see the material and color more closely at home, and free design help is there if you’d like extra guidance along the way.
Is Outer seating modular?
Yes. Outer’s seating is made to be arranged in the configuration that suits your space best, with the flexibility to rearrange over time. Connector clips are provided to help keep pieces aligned and add stability to your layout.
Which frame material should I choose?
Each material offers a different feel. All-Weather Wicker has a textured, handwoven look with timeless appeal. Aluminum is lightweight, weather-resistant, and easy to maintain. Teak offers a warmer, more natural expression, with FSC® certified wood that does not need sealing and will gradually age into a silver-gray patina.
Do I need an All-Weather Cover if I already have OuterShell®?
OuterShell® is built for everyday cushion protection, helping keep your seating clean, dry, and ready to enjoy. For harsher climates or off-season coverage, Outer recommends an All-Weather Cover to help protect the entire sofa and support longer-term durability.
Does the sofa require assembly?
Assembly varies by material, but the experience is designed to be simple. Teak seating arrives fully assembled, aluminum seating only needs cushions added, and wicker seating just requires leg attachment by the White Glove delivery team before the pieces are arranged and clipped into place.
