Tom works for the United Nations here in NYC and Laura is a Nurse Practitioner. We travel the world, play tennis, do yoga, and always love to learn. New ideas, cultures, foods, ways of thinking—we love to learn it all. It’s fairly rare to have a large backyard in the middle of Brooklyn. We’re in a funky, beautiful area with tons of new restaurants. Off the main drag, our backyard is a quiet oasis. We’re close to the highway, which affords us easy access, but we do not hear it. We bought this condo after the NYC lockdown where we both worked from home in 700 sq ft in packed Manhattan. This outdoor space is extra special to us. We are able to breathe, and finally, enjoy the outdoors after weeks stuck inside. Our space has beautiful French-style banisters, an outdoor BBQ, fridge and wet bar, our Outer sectional, accent chairs, and a black-glass-lined fire pit complete with hanging lights and greenery to add to the coziness. I love the hanging lights, they’re inviting and cozy. We both grew up with very welcoming parents and families who entertain, so we love to keep up that same vibe. We enjoy wine, fire nights, crosswords, and even workouts in our backyard space.
