I’m the current mayor of Chattahoochee Hills and a semi-retired serial entrepreneur, and my wife, Karen, is a top local real estate broker. She's a Georgia girl, while I was born in Germany, and we have lived all over the world. We now call Georgia home. We love to hike, cook, and travel. I also love being in the “give back” part of my life. Our townhome is located in one of the newer hamlets of Serenbe, called Mado. Serenbe — a gorgeous expanse of homes and wildlife on the southwestern tip of Atlanta — was built under the ethos of “New Urbanism” which encourages biophilia, or the living of more thoughtful, nature-filled lives. Serenbe is in Chattahoochee Hills—the amazing town where I happen to serve as the Mayor. It’s almost 70 square miles of pristine farm and forest land just 20 minutes from Atlanta's airport. In Serenbe, we are permanently protecting 70% of the land and developing only 30% as walkable villages and hamlets. It’s definitely bucolic. We’ve amassed a community of really amazing people, all committed to maintaining this beautiful land. It was Chattahoochee Hills' remarkable rural environment that first attracted us to our home — we love it here!
