Outdoor Fire Pits Designed for Warmer, Longer Evenings Outside
Outer’s fire pits are designed to bring warmth, function, and a stronger sense of gathering to patios, decks, and backyards. With clean-lined silhouettes in Concrete and OuterStone®, this collection is made for outdoor spaces that want more than a source of heat. Every Outer fire pit is built around a versatile 3-in-1 concept, designed to function as a fire pit, a table, and a grill, with the optional Cooking Set adding the griddles and stands that complete the cooking setup.
Available in rectangular, round, and square formats, Outer fire pits make it easier to choose a shape that suits your layout and the way you gather. The result is a collection of fire pit tables that feels more versatile, more social, and more aligned with how people actually use their space, whether that means quiet evenings outside, serving drinks around the fire, or cooking together outdoors.
What type of fuel does Outer offer for its fire pits?
Outer Fire Pit Tables are available in two configurations: liquid propane gas and natural gas. The natural gas version is compatible with a direct natural gas line hookup, while the propane version is configured for use with a 20 lb. LPG cylinder.
Can I cook on an Outer fire pit?
Yes, but only with Outer cooking accessories. Outer’s fire pit tables should only be used for cooking with Outer accessories such as the griddle pan and stands.
What materials are available in this collection?
Outer’s current fire pit collection includes Concrete and OuterStone® options. Outer describes OuterStone® as a sintered stone surface that cannot be etched, scratched, or burned, while its concrete fire pits are made from relatively lightweight Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete with a metal frame.
Can Outer fire pits be placed on a deck or patio?
Yes, as long as the fire pit is installed outdoors on a flat, stable surface and positioned at least 4 feet away from structures or plants. It should not be placed on dirt or grass. A concrete or slate patio is ideal, though installation on a wooden deck is also supported. For safe use, the area should be fully vented, with no overhang or trees within 6 feet above the unit.
What kind of fire media can be used?
The ceramic spheres included with the fire pit are recommended because they help keep the flame more stable in wind and distribute heat outward. The burner pan is also designed to work with other aftermarket fire media, including lava stones, lava granules, fire glass, and ceramic spheres.
Are outdoor fire pits worth the investment?
Yes. For many homeowners, an outdoor fire pit is worth the investment because it adds more than warmth. A well designed fire pit table can help extend the use of your outdoor space, create a natural gathering point, and add everyday function beyond occasional entertaining. With a versatile 3-in-1 design, it can serve as a fire pit, outdoor table, and cooking surface, making it a practical long-term addition to a patio or backyard.
What is the best type of fire pit for a backyard?
For many backyards, the best option is a gas or propane fire pit table. Compared with traditional wood-burning fire pits, it offers a cleaner-burning experience with no ash cleanup, less mess, and more convenience for everyday use. It is especially well suited to homeowners who want warmth, easier maintenance, and a fire feature that also works as part of a complete outdoor furniture layout.
How do I choose between natural gas and propane?
The right choice depends on your outdoor setup. A natural gas fire pit is usually the better fit for homeowners with an existing gas line who want a more permanent installation. A propane fire pit is often the better choice for patios or backyards without a gas connection, since it offers more flexibility and can be easier to install. Both provide a cleaner and more convenient experience than wood-burning fire pits.
What outdoor furniture pairs well with a fire pit?
Fire pits pair well with outdoor sofas, lounge chairs, and modular seating arranged for conversation. For a more functional setup, place the fire pit at the center of the seating area and leave enough surrounding surface space for drinks, small plates, and everyday patio use. To create a more complete outdoor living space, choose furniture that matches the scale and style of your fire pit table.
Can I use an Outer fire pit on a wood deck?
An Outer fire pit can be used only when the deck, surrounding clearance, and installation conditions meet the product’s safety requirements. Homeowners should always follow the official setup guidance, including placement, ventilation, heat protection, and minimum clearance from nearby surfaces or structures. If the fire pit is being placed on a wood deck, it is important to confirm that the surface and installation environment are appropriate before use.
