No. Thanks to its natural durability and high oil content, teak does not need to be sealed, treated, or stained. Over time, it will naturally develop a silver-gray patina. If you prefer to maintain a fresher golden tone, you can use a teak cleaner and brightener.
Will teak change color over time?
Yes. Over time, teak naturally develops a silver-gray patina. That change is cosmetic only and does not affect the wood’s strength or longevity.
Is the teak sofa modular?
Yes. Outer’s teak sofas are modular and reconfigurable, so you can rearrange the layout over time or add new pieces as your space evolves. The seating pieces can also be secured together with optional connector clips under the frames for a more stable arrangement.
